“Three years ago, when I moved to St. Augustine, Florida, I was searching for something new. I didn’t know anyone and felt out of place, and I was struggling to find meaningful connections. Like many, I turned to socializing over alcohol, but it soon became more of a burden than a relief. I found myself going out more than I wanted, just to meet people, and eventually, it got out of hand. A DUI forced me to stop and rethink my approach to socializing, and that’s when I stumbled upon something unexpected: kava.”
Discovering Green Turtle Kava

“One evening, I walked into a small, newly opened kava bar called Green Turtle Kava. The earthy aroma was unfamiliar, and the drinks were different from what I was used to—but I gave it a try. From that first sip, something shifted. The effects were subtle but profound: calmness, relaxation, and most importantly, clarity. Kava helped me feel grounded and present without the fog of alcohol.”

Eventually, I was offered a job there, and working behind the bar made me realize that kava wasn’t just a drink—it was a way to help others find balance in their lives, just as I had.”
